The Johan Cruijff ArenA ‘second life’ mega battery has won the T3.com Eco Award. T3.com is one of the UK’s leading consumer lifestyle websites. Other nominees were, amongst others, Tesla and Patagonia. Over two million unique users visit T3.com every month.
From September 6-7 Signify held their annual partner summit in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. From all over the world their global network of Value Added Partners came together in the most innovative and sustainable stadium in the world. Signify is one of the partners of the Johan Cruijff ArenA and strategic partner of Amsterdam Innovation ArenA. In total, three hundred international partners and one hundred Signify-employees visited the summit.
For the first time in the world, a football match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA was broadcast in real time, with only 0.3 seconds delay, in Daejeon, South Korea. Combining new Ultra-Wide Vision technology with a super-fast data connection enabled a group of South Koreans to experience the live event in an unmatched way. Conducted by TNO, the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and SURFnet, the test broadcast was designed amongst other things to demonstrate whether European Championship 2020 matches can be experienced live worldwide.
