Last Saturday, the ESL Benelux Championship took place in the Amsterdam ArenA, where the best gamers from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg took the lead against each other. Over 2000 visitors visited the event and enjoyed exciting game competitions, various cosplay and all kinds of game activities in the main building and on the field. On the stage in the stadium, the finals of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone and League of Legend took place, where visitors could enjoy the thrill of these exciting matches.

In the main building, the Ziggo eBattle: The Ultimate Clash was organized in collaboration with Ajax. Amongst the competitors were Manchester City, AS Roma, Valencia CF, Schalke 04 and, of course, Ajax. Ajax representative Dani Hagebeuk eventually came out as the ultimate winner. In addition to the various game tournaments, several activities took place in the main building, such as Virtual Reality gaming, meet & greets with Youtubers (including FC Roelie, DutchFifaHD, vvBasyy, HeezerulesNL, Koolein and Sjaak) and ofcourse gaming itself.

On Friday, June 23, the day before the event, the business presentation of ESL Benelux took place.Over 100 guests were invited by ESL Benelux and enjoyed several guest speakers, including Peter Warman of Newzoo on Esports Insights, Marco Albregts of Lagardere Sportsmarketing, Jaap Visser on behalf of ESL International and Jeroen van Iersel of the Amsterdam ArenA. After the presentations the guests were taken to the Koninklijke Loge for a drink.
